Day 1: Arrival in Surabaya and Transfer to Ijen Hotel (Bondowoso)
Your adventure begins upon arrival at Surabaya Airport, where you’ll meet your guide and driver then drive to Ijen Hotel (approximately 5-6 hours) while stopping on the way to have lunch at local restaurant, along the way, enjoy glimpses of rural Indonesia, with rice paddies and traditional villages dotting the landscape.
Once in Bondowoso, check-in at your hotel and relax, and you may have dinner before go to bed.
Day 2: Ijen Crater – The Blue Fire Experience & Transfer to Bromo Hotel
The next morning, you’ll wake up in the middle of the night to begin your adventure. At 00:15 am, you’ll depart for Ijen Crater (approximately 1.5-2 hours by car). Upon arrival, take a short break at traditional shop and begin your hike to the crater at 02.15 am (about 1 to 1.5 hours uphill).
The highlight of this trek is the chance to witness Blue Fire—a rare natural phenomenon caused by burning sulfuric gas. This glow, visible only at night or very early in the morning, creates an otherworldly atmosphere that is unlike anything you’ve ever seen.
After watching the Blue Fire and taking in the stunning Crater Lake, go back to the traditional shop to have breakfast and short break and then return to your hotel for packaging and showering and some rest.
After packaging, you’ll check out and begin the scenic drive to Mount Bromo, about 5-6 hours away while stopping to the local restaurant to have well-deserved lunch. Day 3: Sunrise at Mount Bromo & Return to Surabaya
The highlight of the trip comes on the final day with an early morning adventure to Mount Bromo.
At 00:30 am, you’ll head to Penanjakan or Kingkong Hill view point to catch the famous sunrise over Bromo. Watching the sun rise above the volcanic landscape, with the majestic Mount Semeru in the distance, is an experience that will take your breath away.
After the sunrise, continue the adventure by taking a jeep ride through the Sea of Sand, which is a vast expanse of volcanic ash. From there, you’ll hike up to the rim of Mount Bromo’s crater, where you can look down into the smoking volcanic mouth.
Afterward, return to the hotel before 10 pm for breakfast,
At 12.00 pm, check out from the hotel, and begin the drive back to Surabaya. The tour concludes upon your arrival in Surabaya airport or Surabaya hotel.
